So I've been watching Sex and the City. I'm currently halfway through the last season - woot! Anyway, I would never actually use the show to solve my own relationship dilemmas, but a quote got me thinking....
"Can you get to your future if your past is present?"
This quote kind of struck a chord with me. I'm still making up my mind on what to think about it. In terms of relationships, can being friends with your ex get in the way of a new relationship? I think it is possible to be friends with an ex, but I also think in ways it can interfere with something new. It may even be possible without you knowing outright that it's happening. Maybe I've just been thinking way too much.
Here's the full quote....
"So...can you get to your future if you past is present? And I guess I pose this question in terms of relationships. Does keeping an old lover around keep that new love from sweeping you off of your feet? Is it ever OK to recycle love...If a relationship failed in the past, does that mean it could NEVER work?"
Hmmmm.....
